Cronicle of Kortedala

2014-2015

Kortedalakrönika is a funeral pall for the Kortedala parish in Gothenburg. The project

can be seen as a historical time document where, together, we have recycled old altar textiles from the church, as well as having unravelled threads in order to weave them into a new textile. The chronicle, in the form of ribbon edging on the funeral pall, is a portrait of Kortedala’s architecture in the 1950s. The shared work creates a shared importance and relevance, and my hope is that the textiles will both be used and taken care of by many.
